Lamar Miller, RB, Miami
Height: 5’11″
Weight: 212
Grade: 7.2D (Grading Scale)
Film Room Notes: vs OSU, vs UNC, vs VT , vs Bethune-Cookman
Strengths: Perfect size for an NFL back, can gain or shed weight – Speedy back, has a 2nd gear – Good vision, sees the holes well, reads blocks, and explodes with that speed – Tough to bring down, fights for extra yards, maybe even to a detriment sometimes – Good form on the way he handles the ball, keeps it tight to his body, switches hands fluidly – Decent hands, can be used in the passing game – Not a dancer – Played through an injured shoulder half the season, showed great toughness – Overall, he is a faster version of another UM standout Clinton Portis.
Weaknesses: Pass blocking will need to improve, did have a couple of good blocks during the season, may show a willingness to learn – Durability, so few touches in his college career, and did slow down late in the season, needs to build up his strength for the NFL season long grind – Shoulder injury slowed him somewhat his sophomore year. Played through it to his credit, but no telling the wear on that shoulder.
