With their second round pick, the Dolphins have selected Jonathan Martin to play Right Tackle and may have just solidified their offensive line for years to come.
With All Pro LT Jake Long on the left side, last year’s first round pick Mike Pouncey in the middle at center, and now Martin on the right, the strength of the Phins offense will now undoubtedly be their line play. Martin was tasked with protecting Andrew Luck’s blind side in college when he played Left Tackle.
Martin was projected to be an early first round pick early in the draft process and slipped some to the second round where Miami grabs him at pick #42. With first round QB Ryan Tannehill selected yesterday, it has become clear the Dolphins intend on building around him with this Oline selection and the possibility of two Wide Receivers to be taken still.
We will update the Dolphins TWO 3rd round picks when they are announced, pick #’s 72 and 73.
