2013 NFL Mock Draft: Chad

MDD Staff Writer: Chad Pullen

With the 2012 NFL Draft now behind us, it is time to at least think about what 2013′s draft might look like.  With Miami taking their franchise QB, as well as filling a few other holes along the way, look for the Dolphins to address WR, S, and OG at some point early in 2013 IF the roster stays as is throughout the year.

Check in all year as well will follow along all the prospects and bring you the information you need leading up to the 2013 NFL Draft.

Mock Updated: July 11, 2012

1. Jacksonville
Matt Barkley, QB, USC
Now that the Jags have their franchise punter in place, time to build the team the right way.

2. Seattle
Tyler Bray, QB, Tennessee *
Could be interesting if Pete Carroll tries to move up to 1 to pursue his old recruit, if not, the next best QB is within his grasp.

3. Indianapolis
Jonnthan Banks, CB, Mississippi St
Colts drafted a solid start to build around Andrew Luck, now they begin giving him defensive help, something they struggled with in the Peyton era.

4. Minnesota
Manti Te’o, MLB, Notre Dame
The Vikes started to address their secondary in the 2012 draft, now they will add the signal caller in the middle to help solidify their young core.

5. Oakland
Alex Hurst, OT, LSU
With no 2nd round pick, the Raiders will need to hit a home run here, they could possibly trade down to get more picks, if not, solid LT never hurt.

6. St Louis
DJ Fluker, OT, Alabama*
Having the extra first rounder gives them flexibility so they begin by deepening their Oline for both Bradford and S-Jax.

7. Miami
Justin Hunter, WR, Tennessee*
Robert Woods may be the bigger name, but Hunter is the bigger WR. If he declares, he could be in high demand.

8. New Orleans
Star Lotulelei, DT, Utah*
Expect a tough year defensively for the Saints, they may start to rebuild the defense with a Star, literally.

9. Kansas City
Tyler Wilson, QB, Arkansas
If the Chiefs are drafting this high again, the Matt Cassell era should come to a close.

10. St Louis (from Washington)
Robert Woods, WR, USC*
And now the Rams add another big weapon for Bradford with another WR opposite second rounder Brian Quick.

11. Arizona
Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia*
Cards have added some talent to the back of their defense, now start to work the middle of it with the dynamic Jones.

12. Cleveland
Barkevious Mingo, DE, LSU*
After focusing heavy on the offense in the 2012 draft, they look to improve the D with yet another star LSU Dlineman.

13. Carolina
Cobi Hamilton, WR, Arkansas
Adding another year to Steve Smith, time to get Cam a terrific, young, big target outside for him to look for the next 10 years.

14. Buffalo
Logan Thomas, QB, Virginia Tech *
After flirting with Tannehill, and taking a look at the similar Vince Young, the Bills roll the dice on the next Cam Newton type.

15. Tennessee
David Amerson, CB, NC State*
A bit big for corner, the Titans take a chance on the ballhawk portion of his game.

16. Tampa Bay
Tyrann Mathieu, CB, LSU*
Guaranteed to be the Tebow-esque focus of the Draft next year, the Honey Badger will surely be overdrafted, Tampa will try to continue building their young D.

Love The Logan Thomas to Buffalo and Comparisons to Cam Newton (LOL)
Love My Pats Going No. 32 and Taking the Former USC Recruit Seantrel Henderson. We Really Needed to Draft A Tackle to Replace the now retired Matt Light. Props!!

  2. Travis says:

What makes you think that a near elite defense with a great runningback and a potentially very good QB qill pick 2nd?

    • Thomas says:

I agree. Apparently he hates the hawks or doesn’t pay enough attention to all the teams in the NFL to see the hawks are poised to rise from 12. Not fall to second. I mean seriously. It’s the same young team, but with more playing experience. And whoever starts this season will be better under center than last season.

  3. jagsr4real says:

if im the jags and picking at 1 id go logan thomas instead of Barkley

  4. floridated says:

What is it about the Dolphins that they don’t get it…You need a franchise qb to be successful in the NFL. I don’t think that Tannehill is the answer right now he is #3 on the qb rotation. A moron owner who knows zero about football going to fins game is like going to a concert with all the celebrity owners he should be banned from all football decisions and the games too. What shit head. Living proof that geeks should not be allowed to buy sports teams. Bundle up a few picks and move up to at least #3 to get a franchise QB. Hopefully the new coaching staff will put the team on firm ground and not in the cellar in the AFC east as usual.

  5. ollie says:

if the Saints are going to draft that low? why mot give them Tyler Wilson, QB, Arkansas,he could sit under Brees for 3-4 years..JMO

  6. Mike J says:

If a corner the size of Mathieu goes in the top 20, I’ll eat my hat.

  7. Larry Pearce says:

Why the hell would the Jags draft Logan Thomas. Isn’t Matt Barkley, or Tyler Wilson Good Enough? Why not have LT Go to the Bills?

  8. James says:
